Our lead research crawler, and how to opt out
AIEkipLeadBot reads public company web pages for the AI B2B Lead Generator, which helps businesses find other businesses that could use what they sell. Here is how it behaves, what it collects and how to stop it.
How to recognise it
Every request it makes carries this User-Agent header:

Add these lines to the robots.txt at the root of your site:

Disallow: /A careful, named crawler
It reads as little as it needs to check whether a company matches a customer's criteria.
Respects robots.txt
It reads your robots.txt before anything else and skips every page it may not fetch.
Public pages only
A few pages per company, such as the homepage, about, team and careers. It never logs in, fills in forms or gets past paywalls.
Light on your server
Ten-second timeout, a size limit per page, and pages are cached for up to 30 days, so it rarely comes back.
No LinkedIn scraping
It never logs in to LinkedIn or crawls it. Profile links come only from search results or data providers.
What we collect, and what we don't
Only public business information about companies and the people in business roles there.
What we collect
- Company facts: name, website, industry, size, location, founding year and the technology visible on its site
- Public news, job posts and registry records about the company
- People in business roles: name, job title and a public profile link from search results
- Work email addresses: found on the company site, worked out from its email pattern and checked, or from a data provider
What we never collect
- Home addresses, private phone numbers or personal email accounts
- Content behind a login, private social media posts or messages
- Sensitive data such as health, religion or political views
- Anything about people outside their business role
Every field we store keeps a record of where it came from and when.
Why we may use it
We process this information on the basis of legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR and the UK GDPR), for business-to-business prospecting only: helping a business find companies that may need its products, and the people whose job is to decide on them. We never use it for consumer marketing.
Our customers decide whether and how to contact a lead. They must follow the outreach rules that apply to them, including offering an easy way to opt out of their messages.
How long we keep it
Leads delivered to our customers are deleted after 12 months. An opt-out is kept for as long as it is needed to keep you off our lists. To see, correct or delete what we hold about you, contact us.
Remove yourself for every customer
Enter your work email or your company's domain. It goes on our global opt-out list right away, and no AI Ekip customer will receive it as a lead again.
